Leadership Development 2022
I hope you’ll join me in growing in leadership in 2022!
Are you a woman who wants to grow in leadership skills? Do you desire to read, develop your skills, and make real-life changes in your inner life, but find yourself defaulting to social media/TV/ or other time-wasters? Maybe you love setting goals but need some support as the months go by to stick with them.
For 2022, I’m offering two groups with 25 spots in each group for women who want structure and accountability in personal growth and development. This will include monthly meetings where each participant will:
- Share one key principle from the reading that resonated most. These books have been carefully selected to hit areas of time management, thought life, interpersonal skills, and some of the challenges unique to women in leadership.
- Set goals for each quarter and review them and share with the group their progress.
- Gain alignment and energy from other leaders in the group.
Taking feedback from last years group, every other book we read has been authored by a woman. In addition we will read one fiction book for June and July to rest from all our learning! Rather than track monthly goals on Trello, we will review goals quarterly with a short update to the group for accountability.
Each participant will need to sign up, purchase or borrow the books on the reading list (audible is a great option with the volume of ground we will cover), commit to monthly evening meetings, invest time and energy in their own personal growth as leaders, and pay a one-time fee of $125 to participate. Your spot will be secured once you have signed up through the links below AND paid $125 through either Venmo @melissa-spoelstra or Paypal firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once you’re signed up, you will be added to an exclusive email list and private Facebook group so that we can have some spaces to connect throughout the month! I know in the past I would see an opportunity like this and say to myself – “I’ll just read the books on my own.” But come to the end of the season and realize that I actually needed those deadlines, group meetings, shared interaction, and accountability because I didn’t do what I set out to do. Its all too easy to find other pursuits rather than discipline ourselves to read without a group like this to hold us accountable. So join us! If you break the $125 down to our ten meetings – that is $12.50 a meeting – and the learning and sharpening you will encounter will be more than worth it!
These meetings will all take place on zoom. (Links will be sent the week of the meeting.)
Both groups will meet on the last Monday evening of each month. (May and October will be the Monday before the last because of Memorial Day and Halloween – check the dates below!)
Group 1 will meet monthly on Monday evening at 7pm (EST). Sign up for this group
Group 2 will meet monthly on Monday evening at 8pm (EST). Sign up for this group
If you’ve previously read any of these books, you will want to re-read or listen on audible to get the most out of the experience. By joining other women for discussion and insight, together we’ll energize each other to keep pressing on in faith. Hopefully we will also make some like-minded friends along the way!
Last year, I discovered that many companies or churches provide a budget for professional development! If you need to wait until January when your budget restarts for payment – go ahead and sign up for the group and secure your spot – then shoot me an email to email@example.com to let me know and we can work it out!

What some of the women in last year’s group had to say about participating:
“As a mother of six and pastor, it’s hard to make time for personal growth, which is why I knew I needed this group! In 2021, I grew my leadership capacity, increased productivity at work and home, and created habits that have helped me become the person I’ve always wanted to be. Thank you Melissa for offering this group!
“This group was exactly what I needed to jumpstart my leadership thinking. I learned I can develop skills one at a time and I can read one book a month. The accountability in the group was invaluable, yet it was the real discussion of challenges that kept me returning for more.”
“Honestly, 2021 has been rough…but beautiful in hindsight. It was full of growth, pain, change, love, and grace. All I learned from the ladies in our group and the book content was a positive driver, I want more of it in 2022 🙂 I”m signing up!”
